Our services for inspection test are as comprehensive in the nature of completing the testing as they are comprehensive in the range we offer. We offer a range of inspection services ranging from Periodic Inspection Reports(EICR), Landlord Safety Services, PAT Testing, Commercial Application testing and 6 Month and 12 Month Fire Alarm Testing.

Qualified Staff

Periodic Electrical Inspections help to give you a key insight into the circuits in your home, any potential electric shocks or fire hazards, any defective electrical work and any lack of earthing or bonding. Testing is carried out on  fixed wiring. When testing is completed you are provided with an Electrical Condition Report (EICR).

Your electrics should be tested every 10 years for a domestic home, 5 years for a rented home, 3 years for a caravan and 1 year for swimming pools. You should also look for testing to have been completed or for testing to be completed if you are beginning a lease or purchasing/selling your property providing you with an Electrical Condition Report (EICR) ensuring our property is safe.

PAT Testing

Portable appliance testing (PAT) is a key part of examination ensuring the electrical safety of electrical appliances and equipment. While most electrical issues may be thought to be visual and maintaining vigilant of electrical defects can help ensure safety. You cannot guarantee the safety of an item without professional testing performed at appropriate intervals recommended being completed yearly.

While commercial testing may follow the same process of receiving a PAT examination the legal requirements for industrial and workshops have a 6 month testing period in which they should be tested. Due to the extended usage of the equipment as well as other factors like dust/grease and other grime elements it is increasingly important to ensure the electrical safety of these items and servicing.

Landlord safety certificate

Electrical safety checks in the workplace are covered by The Health and Safety at work Act 1974 assigning a duty of care to the employer and employee ensuring the safety of all persons who use the workplace. The requirement covers appliances used by employees, public use of appliances, hiring or supplying of equipment and the repairing or servicing of appliances.

Landlords have a legal requirement to ensure that electrical installations are safe when moving into a property and safely maintained during the tenancy of the property. Any appliances provided should also be ensured to be CE marked and can be PAT tested. Having adequate RCD protection is also highly recommended with regular safety checks performed by a registered electrician to ensure safety and landlord liabilities are met.

Emergency lighting

Emergency lighting testing is a legal requirement under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 that a 3-hour emergency lighting test should be done yearly. Under the same order, Fire Alarm servicing should be done every 6 months. While this is the minimum standard doing both as part of a 6-month fire safety check up is something we highly recommend.

In addition to fire alarm servicing every 6 months, fire alarms should also be tested weekly and testing should be done by a competent person. While this covers electric elements completing a fire risk assessment that is documented covering other aspects of fire safety like fire extinguishers, safety signs, safety training and fire drills are a key part of the complete and overall safety of your business and its employees.
